Several tracks on its origin:

Let us cuberdons would come from Flanders: "KUPER" wanting to say French cone

Cuberdon would have been conceived at the beginning of the 19°siècle in Belgium by a person of the clergy.

From which its nickname comes besides from "hat of priest". A confectioner "would have been mistaken" by preparing the receipt in another candy.

At all events the CUBERDON exists for our greater happiness.

It is also called: "bottom of bumblebee - boudenne of nonette - Cupid - cuperdon...

The war of 1940-1945 A failed to throw it in the lapse of memory because of the lack of gum arabic. As of the return of gum arabic in 1946, the confectioners who still remembered the receipt restarted manufacture.

The composition of the CUBERDON is the secrecy kept best of Belgium and its realization is known that little of artisant.

Good Cuberdon must be composed of one trés fine carapace containing a thick syrup with the perfume and the desired taste.

It should not be older than eight weeks, and its size must be of +/- 2,5 cm because it must be able to burst in the mouth.

Original Cuberdon is scented with raspberry. Today we propose to you more than 25 different perfumes and in season let us coat we them with chocolates.



The real cuberdon has a hard crust, with a liquid filling on the inside. Still the sweet delight needs to be consumed within 8 weeks, to prevent it from becoming too hard. The sooner they are eaten, the better.
